Vancouver Salad Challenge 2017 Winners

The  Vancouver Foodster Salad Challenge was a success featuring several Salad creations from restaurants around Vancouver. Each restaurant featured their salad creation from July 20 – August 13, 2017. Our media judging panel determined the ultimate winners of the challenge, and this was quite the task as each judge who tasted each creation with a rigorous process based on taste, originality/uniqueness and presentation/appearance.

Our Media judges for this challenge were: Alyssa Dawson, Josh Rimer and Steph Wan.

Each media judge will have scored the creation with a maximum of 40 points as follows: Overall Taste 20 points, Originality and Uniqueness 10 points, Presentation and Appearance 10 points). The total number of points a salad creation could earn is 120 points.

Description: Smoked Sockeye lomi lomi, and albacore poke on a bed of roasted sesame dressed organic greens. Served with a house yuzu slaw, avocado, kani, sweet mango, topped with peashoots, masago, crispy onions and furikake.

Ingredients: Ocean wise smoked salmon, Oceanwise Albacore tuna, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, Hawaiian alaea salts, roasted sesame, yuzu slaw, avocado, polluck, peashoots, masago, mango, crispy onions, dried seaweed, sesame seeds.

Description: shaved and roasted gold beets, sliced radish, tender greens topped with crumbled goat cheese. It’s the guests choice of dressing but we recommend our signature balsamic & olive oil. Guests may also add wild BC salmon or roasted local chicken from Rossdown Farms.
