First Taste of Umaluma Gelato

With his entrepreneurial spirit and exuberant passion, owner and founder, Ian Bruce spent 18 months of R & D as well as more time on his vision of creating Canada’s first organic, 100% plant based gelato shop.

He opened shop about 2 weeks ago in the heart of Chinatown, working with notable interior and brand designers (St. Marie and Glasfurd & Walker).

The gelato style ice cream is made with coconut milk, hemp seed milk and cashew nut crème which makes up the base, then each of the flavours are added, all high quality ingredients making for a delicious product. Most won’t be able to tell that it is dairy-free, which makes this all so much better.

You will find 18 flavours on offer at any one time in the freezer case for scooping, you can get takeaway pints, soon they will be offering sundaes, and they are also going to be wholesaling to restaurants.
