It’s the right mix of elements that can make a restaurant succeed, it also takes a passionate and experienced team who are used to working hard to carry the experience through to it’s clientele. Business partners Paul Grunberg, Craig Stanghetta and Chef Mark Perrier cover these bases so very well, they have created a beautiful room that’s warm in ambience and has some seasoned servers who know a thing or two on how to serve to win the customer’s over.
This Fraserhood Italian taverna is an informal eatery serving wine and local specialties and the menu features plenty of handmade pastas and wood fired dishes. I started my dinner with the Garlic Bread ($6) “all’Americano” classic, delicious, it is one of those nods to nostalgia that many of us remember from childhood. The Black Kale Salad ($12) comes with a tasty lemon pepper dressing, and pecorino.
On to the mains, the Half Fire Grilled Chicken ($21) with, rosemary, lemon – tender and flavourful and perfect for sharing along with some sides, the Broccoli ($6) with raisins, pine nuts and lemon was the perfect flavourful side to go with the chicken. All their pastas are house-made and since the pasta dishes are fairly small in portion size you may want to add one to one of the other main dishes, I had the outstanding and rich, Lamb Filled house made Ravioli ($17) , finished in butter and balsamic.
I have always had a love for Italian food and I’m always ending a fine meal with dessert and this Grandfather’s Chocolate Tart ($10), olive oil, sea salt, pinenuts was a delicious dessert with a hint of salt, and it’s a true game changer.
Take friends, take family and truly enjoy the wonderful food and experience.
