Corporate Chef Jason Rosso had recently changed over 80% of the restaurant menu. I tried several of the new dishes while tasting 3 desserts that previously graced the menu at Milestone’s Crossroads location, one location that I hadn’t visited previously.
1st dish:
Crispy Cauliflower tossed in a light cajun flour with a gorgonzola dip
2nd dish:
Korean Style sticky Ribs with a sweet sticky sauce
3rd dish:
Chorizo Mozzarella Fritters with a smoky paprika aioli
4th dish:
Piri Piri Dip with chic peas, roasted red peppers, avocado and manchego cheese with red tortilla chips
5th dish:
Bistro Half Chicken – crispy skin, honey-lime oregano glaze, buttermilk mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables
6th dish:
Ibarra Mexican Chocolate Cake – Mexican chocolate with caramel, French vanilla ice cream, chocolate drizzle and whipped cream on a bed of creamy caramel
7th dish:
The Breakup-Tub and individual sized tub of cookie dough ice cream, chunks of double chocolate cookie, and house-made caramel ribbon
8th dish:
The Cookie – double dark chocolate cookie out of the oven with white chocolate chunks topped with French vanilla ice cream and house-made caramel and chocolate sauces
My take
Out of all the appetizers my favourite was the Crispy Cauliflower which was actually listed as one of the sides, do order it as an Appetizer, it’s addictive and very good, my only suggestion would be that they replace the dipping sauce with the smoke paprika aioli. I also loved the tender Korean Style sticky Ribs. I loved the new classic Bistro Half Chicken that is roasted then fried in the deep fryer making the skin extra crispy it is then glazed with the delicious honey-lime oregano glaze which is also served on the side for extra dipping. My favourite of all of the desserts was the delicious The Breakup-Tub with the right mix of of addictive cookie dough ice cream, chunks of double chocolate cookie, and house-made caramel ribbon, I could go for another one of these anytime, forget the break-up, this is one of those desserts you are never going to want to share and you are going to want to indulge anytime you have got that cookie dough ice cream craving.
