On April 19, I attended one of the long table dinners for the first time at Gudrun Tasting Room in Steveston. This exceptional dinner was created by Chef Paul Finlay who put together a delicious 6 course menu.
At two long tables guests enjoyed a selection canapes followed by multiple courses all following the Piedmont region.
Canapes:
Fried Polenta & Lamb Ragu
The 1st course:
Raw-Tuna in a caper and anchovy dressing, roasted peppers and egg
The 2nd course:
Jerusalem Artichoke& Porcini Agnolotti with porcini butter sauce
The 3rd course:
Pork Cheeks with cannellini beans, root vegetables, kale with a mustard sauce
The 4th course:
Radicchio, Apple, Walnuts & Spinach
The 5th course:
Loma Piemontaese, pear & fig mostardo
The 6th course:
Chocolate Bonet with Filipino rum and amaretti custard
This was a wonderful dinner with delicious food, in this charming restaurant hidden away in Steveston. My favourite dishes of the night were the house-made Jerusalem Artichoke & Porcini Agnolotti, the Radicchio, Apple, Walnuts & Spinach Salad and the Chocolate Bonet with Filipino rum and amaretti custard. Watch for their long table dinners usually held on Saturday nights featuring a different theme or region.
