Having dined at La Pentola previously, there were many new dishes that I wanted to try and did so on this visit.
1st dish:
Souffle di parmigiano, zucchini crudo
2nd dish:
Heirloom Tomato Salad
3rd dish:
Polenta gnocchi, cheese fonduta, mushroom
4th dish:
Taglierini Bolognese
5th dish:
Halibut
6th dish:
Swiss chard, raisins, capers, pine-nuts
7th dish:
Mushroom trifolati
8th dish:
Bunet Piedmontese
9th dish:
Deconstructed Tiramisu
My Take:
I loved each of the dishes, as well as the presentation. Although I had the Souffle di parmigiano, zucchini crudo on a previous visit, I found the outstanding dish to be more refined now. The Heirloom Tomato Salad was a house special that night celebrating the local bounty of these flavourful tomatoes and the presentation was art on the plate. The Polenta Gnocchi, cheese fonduta, mushroom was my favourite of the 2 pastas ordered. I found the Halibut to be perfectly cooked and seasoned. Both of the sides were delicious, the Mushrooms were divine as was the Swiss Chard with the raisins, capers, and pine-nuts combination. For dessert, both selections were outstanding, my personal favourite of the two was the Bunet Piedmontese.
