Last night November 19, I attended the opening party of East of Main Café in Chinatown. Owned by sister Maureen Webb and Donalda Weaver, they were both on hand to greet the guests.
Guests were treated to selection of 5 house created cocktails along with a nice selection of red and white wine.
Guests mingled over delicious Mediterranean inspired canapés such as the Lemon and Honey Cocas, French Onion Soup with Crisps, Kefta, and more!
At the helm of kitchen operations is Executive Chef Jenny Patsula, along with Bar Manager Colin Turner who was previously at CinCin.
The restaurants profits go toward sustaining sisters Maureen Webb and Donalda Weaver, other venture, Project Limelight Society, a not-for-profit children’s theatre program. This is where social enterprise meets passionate restaurateurs and a chef that loves to create and cook, where the menu features Moroccan, Spain and the Mediterranean influences and flavours.
East of Main Café is located at 223 East Georgia Street in Chinatown and is open Mon-Sat for lunch and dinner. You can find them on the web at http://eastofmaincafe.com/ by phone at 604-899-2777 on on twitter @EastofMainCafe
