One of my favourite food events of the year is Feast of Fields which always takes place in September at a different farm around the lower mainland. This past Sunday, this tasty event was held in an open field at Golden Ears Cheeseworks where over 1,000 people joined in eating, drinking and mingling festivities!

Chef Tom Lee of Edible Canada with his Curry crusted Seared Scallops, avocado puree, charred Hazelmere organic farm corn salsa, fried corn tortilla

Student Chefs from Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts with there Thyme and Birch Syrup infused watermelon

Chef Wendy Boys of Cocolico and her Fig & Honeycomb Ice Cream Sandwich with a Toasted Hazelnut Sable
One of my favourite desserts at the feast was made by Chef Wendy Boys and she has made her recipe for her Fig & Toffee Ice Cream Sandwiches With Roasted Hazelnut Sables And Cocolico’s Salted Butter Caramel Sauce available to the public here is her recipe.
My Feast of Fields favourites are shown above. This was my third visit to Feast of Fields, last year was the 2nd visit and my first visit was Feast of Fields at UBC Farm in 2009. This wonderful annual event is organized by Farm Folk City Folk and is their annual fundraiser.
I am already looking forward to attending next year’s event scheduled for September 8, 2013.
