Corn Festival this Weekend

Who doesn’t love locally grown Corn? Supporting local farmers is what’s needed in our big city, the corn harvest has begun and this Saturday, you will find a truck load of corn available for sale at the Kerrisdale Farmers Market from 10am – 2pm which is located at East Boulevard between 37th and 41st Avenue, near the Kerrisdale Arena. You will also find freshly-popped kettle corn, roasted corn, the Blue Smoke Bbq Food Truck offering up roasted corn, corn recipes, and corn-related activities for the kids.

If you can’t make it over to Kerrisdale then you should know that Harvest Community Foods is offering a group buy of corn directly from the growers in the Fraser Valley, you can email them at hello@harvestunion.ca or tweet them @harvestunion and order your Hazelmere corn delivering this Friday. Picked same day !! $12/12 and hopefully they will do this again a few days later.

If you live in the Fraser Valley or are looking to escape the city then head on out to Chilliwack and pick up your freshly picked corn directly from the farmers.
