First Taste of Hugos Mexican Kitchen in Surrey

Experienced recently re-opened Mexican restaurant at their new location in the Clayton neighbourhood Here you feel like you are in Mexico with the beautiful decor inside.

Lawrence joined me and we started off with their tasty Queso Fundido with beef Barbacoa, with beer-melted cheese with grilled onions, vegan tofu chorizo & side of tortillas.

I had a Horchata mocktail and Lawrence had a Jamaica Margarita which went perfectly with the Spicy Guac and Chips (made fresh every day) with chunky avocado with pico de gallo.

We tried a few of their main dishes and all were good:

Enchiladas de Pollo with corn tortillas, rolled up and stuffed with chicken, smothered in verde enchilada sauce topped with shaved lettuce, pico de gallo, crema & queso. Served with a side of rice & mashed beans.

Quesabirrias had 3 corn quesadillas stuffed with queso and beef birria. Topped with cilantro, onions and a side of birria broth to dunk!

Chicken Alambre in an asada adobo, grilled with onions, bell peppers and bacon, tossed in melted cheese. Served with tortillas, rice and beans.

For dessert we had a Churro Bowl with 4 Churros with vanilla ice cream on the side and a side of cajeta.
