Newly opened is a family run cafe that specializes in Persian baking, and the meaning of the name Bahar is Spring. It is born out of a tragic event with a family member and the bakery is dedicated to her. The family moved to Vancouver from their home country Iran 2-1/2 years ago. Here you will find their mother baking her wonderful pastries from scratch daily.

I enjoyed a cup of Herbal tea along with a selection of their tasty baking that included the very unique Rosebud cookie, Baklava and one of the best sellers the Cardamom Cupcake.

I also tried the Medovik cake (honey cake) a house speciality that takes a lot of time to make, it is not offered daily so you can pre-order it if you want to be sure of getting it, slices are also available in the café.

I tried the Cruffin which was fairly plain as well as their gluten-free Coconut Cookies.

The café also features a full line of espresso beverages, along with a selection of house-baked breads, more baked goods, desserts and more served throughout the day. They small batch bake all the croissants, cookies and more throughout the day so that it is all constantly fresh.

This is a gem worthy of your discovery and a chance to support and independent local café that is all about family.
