I recently spent a week test driving the Honda Accord Hybrid 2022 car around Vancouver while trying some dishes at some of restaurants. coffee at some new cafes and seeing an immersive art exhibition.
I headed to Burnaby to Cayenne Bistro for dinner to try a place I had heard about. The family owned restaurant is run by Zeimina and husband Naz. The restaurant is close to New Westminster, and they specialize in East African and Indian fusion. The restaurant opened a few months before the pandemic began and by thinking outside of the box they managed to get through the pandemic and are now doing well.
I loved both the Serena Prawns appetizer with a delicious curry, served with garlic naan. I also had the very good Zanzibar Kuku Paka with rice; this dish is very different than the Kuku Paka found at most Northern Indian restaurants, the delicious coconut milk based curry came with grilled chicken, potatoes and a hard boiled egg and it was so good. The Ginger Beer was the perfect beverage accompaniment.
I am looking forward to returning some day soon to try more dishes from their vast menu.
The next night I was in Kitsilano and stopped in to Local Pizzaiolo for a visit to get one of their Sea to Sky Pizza for eat in and take out, that pizza comes topped with scallops and mushrooms representing the Sea to Sky highway.
One of the great features is the three selectable drive modes, and the driver can choose with a push of a button located on the centre console. The Sport, EV (electric only) and Econ mode which is what I drove in mostly inside the city,
The next morning, I visited a new café located near Queen Elizabeth Park on Cambie at 33rd, Simple Coffee Love Home features a beautiful décor with inside seating, a great place to read a book over coffee before or after a walk In the park. Here are I had an Espresso Macchiato.
The next day my friend Jason joined me for brunch at Food by Fanta in downtown Langley. Here we shared some of their Thai inspired dishes. The Chor Muang Flower Dumplings traditional Thai flower dumplings is one of my favourite dishes, each dumpling is stuffed with different tasting fillings such as with chicken, pork and veggie along with peanut, sweet radish, onion & cilantro. I also had one of the House Salads with Avocado.
The next day I headed to downtown Vancouver for a refreshing Iced Americano at Deville Coffee which is located across the street from the seabus terminal. This Calgary based coffee chain opened recently in downtown Vancouver and I just love their ambiance and coffee.
After coffee headed over to Canada Place nearby to visit the immersive Beyond King Tut exhibition which is a great activity this fall.
The car offers a gentle ride, spry handling, an elegant cabin, along with spacious seats. The car has an excellent fuel economy; benefiting from the Honda Accord Hybrid car battery that charges itself while you are driving which truly economizes on the gas consumption.
