Afternoon Tea is an art and should be an extraordinary experience one that you will cherish. Vancouver has some wonderful places for you to indulge in an Afternoon Tea experience. Each of the places is unique in what they offer along with the type of service and selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts. I am on a journey around the city to find these extraordinary places.
This tea service is inspired by the glorious and gritty game of Chess and pays homage to the coming of age series that captivated audiences around the world.
I started off this tea adventure by selecting the tea that I wanted to try from the Tea selection, I started with a pot of the 1907 Orange Pekoe tea.
I then indulged with a selection of savoury canapes and sweets served on a three-tiered platter.
My favourites from the savoury plate were the Olive Oil Poached King Salmon, Dungeness Crab, and Parmesan Sable.
I loved the Aged Cheddar Scone & Buttermilk Scone with strawberry preserve, and crème fraiche.
From the selections of sweets my favourites were the Vanilla Chocolate Battenberg cake, Victoria Trifle, Jam Roly-Poly cake and the Chocolate Chess Pieces.
The Griffin’s Gambit Afternoon Tea is available Friday through Sunday from now to September 4, 2022 with three daily seatings at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Reservations are now available and can be made online.
