I recently had an opportunity to try some of the new brunch offerings at this Mount Pleasant restaurant that just launched a creative new weekend brunch service serving a selection of Afghan dishes.
Lawrence joined me and we both started off with their Turkish Coffee; you could also start off the morning with a Mimosa or other cocktail if that’s your preference as they offer a complete lineup of cocktails.
Full Afghan with shami kebab, lubya, mushrooms, egg, bolani and chutney yogurt; this was a great way to try a little bit of everything.
Lamb Benedict with salsa verde and pickled cabbage, some tasty triple fried potatoes.
Eggplant and Avocado Sandwich, this was delicious and the perfect dish for those that don’t like eggs.
Fried Chicken Sandwich, a healthier version of the typical fried chicken sandwich that has flavour.
Waffle with Qaimaq, mulberry compote, cardamom maple syrup; almost a dessert or an entree, you be the judge.
We both also enjoyed a cup of their unique and tasty Afghan Tea made with black tea, walnuts and spices.
Brunch service runs from 10:30am – 2:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
