Venetian Carnival Dinner at Robba Da Matti

I experienced the wonderful Venetian menu at Robba da Matti as they celebrated the cuisine from Venice allowing you to transport yourself to this famous Italian city without leaving ours. My friend Jason joined me as we tried some of the selections off the menu.

Each guest gets to choose one from a selection of 3 appetizers, 3 mains and then everyone enjoys the same dessert, their special Venetian menu is on for the next 2 weeks at all 3 of their locations (Westend, Yaletown and Gastown).

We enjoyed sharing the Appetizers: Cozze & Vongoleragu di anatra a tasty Venetian dishe with Clams & Mussels Sauté with pinot grigio, cherry tomatoes & chillies; and the Beef carpaccio Thinly sliced, raw AAA Alberta beef tenderloin & drizzled with a grainy Dijon & white alba truffle aioli.

The mains followed, I had the delicious Paccheri al ragu di anatra homemade pasta with a duck ragu while Jason had the Spaghetti allo Scoglio a Venetian dish with a tomato sauce base, scallops & chillies with tiger prawns, calamari, mussels & clams.

We each finished the meal with the dreamy Tiramisu which served in clear glasses.
