Specializing in Thai cuisine, Urban Thai Bistro had previously been located in Yaletown for many years before closing 2 years ago with a plan to move to a new neighbourhood which they just did landing in Dunbar Village.
The beautiful restaurant is owned by Desmond Chen who also operates Pink Elephant Café next door, both restaurants share the same kitchen.
I have tried several dishes and zero-proof mocktails here including these refreshing beverages Lychee slushy and Thai iced tea.
For the appetizers these three were all good, Thai Chicken wings with a very hot sauce, Prawn ceviche and the Pork cheeks.
Loved the delicious Duck Noodle Soup with a house-made broth and roasted duck; as well as the Massaman curry rack of lamb.
Also tried the Jumbo XL Tiger Prawns in a curry egg sauce and the Pad Thai Chicken.
A couple of other refreshing mocktails were the Thai iced green tea and the Lime soda.
The Black sticky rice pudding and coconut crème was a great way to finish the meal.
Urban Thai Bistro is located at 5607 Dunbar in Vancouver, you can follow them on instagram @urbanthaibistro
