Most restaurants have always offered takeout, as the industry was forced to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic, dining in became dining out. When restaurants were forced to close their dining rooms they had to get creative. Some have created special meal kits others have created take condensed take-out menus and others have offered their regular menu with discounts for pick up and such.

I had to switch my almost nightly eating out in restaurants to eating takeout at home. One way of keeping your favourite restaurants in business is to purchase takeout meals now. Whether you had been dining out nightly or once a week, you can do the same from home. This is one of the ways to keep the restaurants, cafes and bakeries and such going along with their suppliers and their staff.

Here is one of the restaurants takeout offerings that I have experienced recently.

Takeout at India Bistro & Bar

Enjoyed a tasty Indian dinner to share at home the other night with some of my favourite dishes.

Vegetable Samosas

Aloo Tikki – potato patties, minty yogurt, tomatoes, onion and garbanzo beans

Papdi Chaat – thin crisps topped with potatoes, yogurt, sweet and sour tamarind and mint chutney, served cold.

Fish Tikka – fish marinated in spices and cooked in the tandoor

Pea Pulao – basmati rice cooked with green peas, onion and aromatic spices

Chicken Coconut – boneless chicken cooked in a unique combination of coriander and coconut curry

Aloo Gobhi – cauliflower and potatoes cooked in garlic, ginger, tomato and traditional Indian spices

Lamb Methi – lamb with dry fenugreek leaves and garlic in a special curry sauce

Lachedar Paratha – flaky wholewheat bread with butter

Peshwari Naan – white leavened bread stuffed with dried fruits and nuts

Ras Malai – rich cream, sugar and cardamom based cheese balls

They are offering their regular menu for lunch and dinner ordering daily 12pm -8pm for Takeout by ordering from their website and calling 604-684-6342 or you can order delivery through Doordash, Skip the Dishes, and Uber Eats.
