Jaroslav Mestka

With his European roots, Owner, Jaroslav Mestka set-out to offer house-made chimney cakes from his homeland on his food truck a few years ago. Fast tracking ahead with two food trucks he recently opened a brick and mortar location in Gastown to be able to offer more sweet and savoury items.

Mr. Berry

They are known for serving up delicious soft serve ice cream in freshly baked pastry cones called chimney cakes; they are also now offering savoury creations. I have tried a few of the creations over a couple of visits, one of which was the Mr Berry Sundae it was vanilla soft serve with house-made raspberry sauce in one of their freshly baked Prague cones. I’ve also tried their Hazelnut Chocolate soft-serve which used locally grown hazelnuts and very good chocolate. The larger chimney cakes have a slight lemony taste to them after they are baked. Jaroslav’s background was in the automotive industry, he decided to change careers as he wanted to serve customers baking treats, he spent a couple of years researching and creating the recipes for the dough in his chimney cakes and cones. It is a true art watching him roll his dough and wind it around the wooden cylinders before baking in a special oven for 7-8 minutes.

The possibilities are endless here, with all sorts of toppings and fillings you can have a fun experience, having them build your own delicious chimney cake or sundae.
