It has been about 25 years ago since I last stayed at the beautiful Hallmark Resort & Spa in Cannon Beach which is situated right on the beach with Haystack Rock at its footsteps. It is a spectacular spot on the Oregon Coast and worthy of a visit if you are heading that way.
We stayed in a room with a large jacuzzi tub, comfortable bed and roomy area. The hotel resort offers an indoor pool and jacuzzi for guests to use, and there is a spa on site as well.
I had researched some of the local eateries, one of which didn’t take reservations, so we chanced a late visit at Harding Trading Co. and got seats at the kitchen counter in this charming French rustic restaurant.
Lawrence and I both had the delicious Seafood Bisque which had fish and seafood in the lobster bisque. For our entrees, we shared a couple of them including the Ling cod Provençal and the Spring Cavatelli with rapini and peas.
The next morning we headed a couple miles south for breakfast to Sea Level Bakery, a quaint café offering scratched baked goods and exceptional Heart roasters coffee. I had a Espresso Macchiato, Biscuit with strawberry jam and a Granola bowl.
This was the first stop in our trip heading down the Oregon Coast as we explored the area, the drive from Vancouver took around 7 hours as we stopped a couple times a long the way. Hopefully it won’t be another 25 years before getting back to this gem on the coast.
