When you find a total hole in the wall in an off beat location, it can often be one of those hidden gems and this was just that. My friend Kenny joined me for what turned out to be quite the feast of delicious Malay dishes.
We started out our dining adventure with the must have Roti Canai ($5.95) with curry sauce which is pretty much a staple in a Malaysian eatery. Next was the outstanding Sambal Eggplants ($11.95) in a housemade sambal sauce; this was followed by the Nasi Goreng ($8.95) Malay style fried rice with chicken another dish we both loved.
For our next round, it was the Hainanese Chicken ($13.95 half) a traditional Malaysian dish, tender chicken and full of flavour; this was followed by the flavourful Beef Rendang ($12,95) slow cooked with potatoes and served with coconut rice, and the very unique #36 Lor Bak ($12.95) which is a bean curd wrapped beef dish.
The food is the star here, where you will find a vast selection of rice and noodle dishes as well as seafood, meat and veggie dishes. I am looking forward to returning to try more of their dishes including their Laksa.
