Hidden off the beaten path in the heart of Kerrisdale is a wonderous gem. Specializing in Syphon Style coffee brewed with their own freshly roasted coffee beans, this elegant café features sandwiches, waffles and other savouries along with home-made desserts, an espresso bar along with Afternoon Tea and Afternoon Coffee service. Owned by Jason Hsu who has had an interest in coffee culture for much of his life, his wife makes all the wonderful desserts that highlights the cafes offerings. I have visited a couple of times, the first visit I had tasted a selection of coffees including the Mandheling Syphon coffee, the Iced Drip Coffee, and an Espresso Macchiato, as well as a piece of their Strawberry Cheesecake. The following visit I had the Tuna Waffle which was a more like tuna salad that complemented their homemade savoury waffle, followed by a Caramel Macchiato, and some sweet treats that included the Mille Feille and a Florentine topped with almonds.
The coffee and tea selection is quite extensive, this a wonderful spot to take friends or to enjoy an afternoon escape. I am looking forward to visiting soon for Afternoon Tea!
