On Sunday April 6th, 2014 we presented our 1st culinary scavenger hunt. It was a multi-faceted “tasting experience” through downtown Vancouver with clues, challenges, prizes and more. With a “map and clues card” as a guide, guests had a chance to taste dishes, bites and treats as well as have a chance to meet the chefs and staff at the various establishments.
All sorts of treats were served at each of the participating establishments along with activities, games, quizzes offering a chance to win prizes along the way.
De Dutch Pannekoek House featured a few different dishes, there De Bakon and Edam cheese Pannekoeken; Strawberry, banana and whipped cream Pannekoeken and their Bitter Ballen with Dutch mustard.
Milestones Yaletown served Mini Breakfast Tostada Bites.
Chasers Juice served fresh squeezed Orange juice along with their fresh greens blend and cashew milk. They also had an interactive station where people could squeeze and make their own orange and grapefruit juices..
At Xoxalat they featured a chocolate tasting explaining the terroir & flavoured ones as well as some surprises.
Soirette Macaron featured 2 new macarons (Kumquat and Yuzu and Coconut and Guava) with tea pairings for the event.
The Parlour served tasters of Prohibition Ale along with an array of our Pizzas and a couple of Salads.
Marquis Wines featured a a tasting/sensory station where guests had the opportunity to taste 3 wines and learn about each.
Bella Gelateria offered Cups of Vanilla or Chocolate gelato
Seventeen89 Restaurant served their Hemp Crusted Albacore Tuna along with a Beer paring.
We also featured a Scavenger Hunt game which people had the opportunity to play if they liked, the Grand Prize winner was Rebecca Ind who won Dinner for two ($300 value) at Seventeen89 Restaurant
The 2nd prize was a Meinhardt Gift Pack ($100 value) won by Jen and Micah Weintraub and Elise Duncan who shared their prize win.
