French Toast Brioche
For years friends have been telling me to head East on Hastings to their favourite sandwich emporium, happen chance I visited recently for breakfast where I had their delicious French Toast Brioche ($9.95) with caramelized apples and raisins. It was mid-morning during the week and the place was packed, apparently it is always packed, that is a good sign. Since I was there for breakfast not lunch, sandwiches didn’t enter my consciousness, by the time I was ready to leave, I was watching nearby diners indulging in what looked to be people immensely enjoying their baguette sandwiches.
Next time I am back in the Burnaby Heights neighborhood I will be looking forward to indulging in both the Lamb Shank Baguette with fries and the Beef Short Rib Baguette (Bourgignon).
