Such a fun idea for Spring where Owner/Chef Jean-Francis Quaglia is featuring the Quelle Surprise from now through to April 15, $49 for two courses.
Each morning Chef Jean-Francis, and his Chef Team, will make a limited number of dishes from a rotating assortment of bistro favourites. Some days they will make a dozen orders of a particular Appy and Main and other days, depending on the availability of ingredients and what inspires them, they might make two dozen, or only ten.
I had a chance to taste several of the dishes at a media dinner, the portion size was smaller so that we could try more. I loved every dish that I tried which included Os à Moelle (Roasted Bone Marrow) and Canard Confit (Duck Confit), Salade Niçoise, Petites Sardines à L’Huile d’Olive, Salade, Tartare de Boeuf, Vol au Vent au Lapin, Oeuf Mimosa.
The server will inform you at the table what the “Surprise” of the day is. If the surprise dishes don’t appease you then you can order from their regular lunch or dinner menu as that will also be available.
Wine pairings are optional and extra, Wine Director Joshua Carlson has many wonderful bottles to tempt you if you so desire.
