Around Metro Vancouver in the Honda HR-V

I recently spent a week test driving the Honda HR-V 2023 car around Vancouver while visiting some new restaurants, bakeries and cafes around Metro Vancouver.

One restaurant that I had been wanting to visit for quite sometime is one that is located in Aldergrove, picked up my friend Jason and drove out to India’s Most Wanted for dinner on a Tuesday night. The restaurant specializes in Indian Street Food and has a vast menu of snacks and other dishes!

We loved the Fully loaded Gol Gappe as our appetizer.

The Classy Pistachio Lamb Curry was phenomenal with the aromatic curry made of pistachios. The Cash$$u Chicken Korma was flavourful with the delicious cashew based korma curry. The Pind Di Dal Makhni was rich and creamy and it all went well with the Basmati rice and the tasty Garlic naan.

The restaurant is located at 26827 Fraser Hwy Unit#100, Langley Twp (Aldergrove).

The next day I visited Ça Croustille Bakery at 3273 West Broadway that had opened recently in Kitsilano. I had one of their delicious Olives croissants along with a Cortado.

The HR-V car has a roomy front area as well as a large cargo area of the back of the car.

The next day I took a drive out to Port Moody and visited Elmo Baking (3133 Murray Street) to get one of my favorite Black sesame croissant; while there I also picked up one of their newest creations, the delicious Matcha and red bean croissant.

Chef Annie Cheung recently opened Pourquoi Pas Patisserie at1194 Lansdowne Dr #304 in Coquitlam with lineups out the door. I took a drive early on a Sunday morning to be one of the first in and picked up one of their Double Baked Almond Croissants, all the baking looked divine.

It has good driveability, a smooth ride, and comfortable seating. A few things that I liked in this model was the great fuel economy, econo mode, wireless phone charger, and multiple USB charging outlets.

One of the popular Filipino restaurants is Liberte Restaurant Café, (3670 Vanness Ave) I took a drive one afternoon for a visit and picked up a Ube and white chocolate croissant.

On Saturday night, I caught up with my friend Debby over dinner Time and Place inside the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel for a delicious dinner. The restaurant is conveniently located near Metrotown. It is a great spot for a leisurely dinner on your own with friends or family.

We shared a selection of tasty dishes starting off with the Yam and Greens Salad with a lemon thyme vinaigrette; and the Kuterra Salmon Fillet with black garlic spaetzle, charred green bean and cauliflower, roasted sunchoke, and shallot emulsion; as well as the Slow braised Lamb Shank with cherry wood smoked lamb leg, Yukon gold mashed potatoes, blistered campari swiss chard and caramelized onion. We also had a side of the saute Broccolini.

The next day I visited one of my favourite cafes in East Van, Timbertrain Coffee Depot for a Espresso Tonic to go.

I really enjoyed the Honda HR-V 2023 was a great car to drive and around Vancouver including the Fraser Valley.
