Bruno is the first restaurant to open in the new Versante Hotel which is located in Richmond B.C. close to the airport. The restaurant is located on the main floor and will be serving guests and the public breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
Bruno is focused on sustainable dishes, locally sourced produce, and incredible family-style dishes. Boasting an ever-evolving menu of dishes directly influenced by the farmers and artisans that provide their ingredients, Bruno offers approachable dishes served in an opulent and inventive way. From large family-style share plates to beautiful salads and bites, Bruno takes guests on a culinary journey through British Columbia.
Executive Chef Wil Lew leads the kitchen and works with his team creating wonderful and tasty dishes.
The Versante Bar is located at the entrance before heading into the restaurant and featuring seating to enjoy a cocktail while waiting for dinner. Here General Manager Brad Stanton is making up some mocktails.
I have tried several dishes here during a media dinner that I was invited too. Here I had a chance to see and taste notable dishes that are featured on the menu.
The Scroll Loaf with brulee fois gras butter is incredible as was the Burrata Summer Orchard Salad.
The Smoked Salmon & Ikura flatbread is very good; and the table favourite was the Kurobuta Pork belly.
The Truffle Lavender Duck was impressive as was the Forno Roasted Red Seabream & Lobster Seafood platter that features Atlantic Lobster and local BC shellfish is very good.
Chef torched some delicious Kusshi oysters, and showcased their Halibut Uni king crab risotto.
I also loved the the delicious Truffle potatoes and Crispy brussels sprouts.
For a fun dessert you can get these Anti-griddle Ice Cream popsicles prepared at your table and this would be great for a team building lunch or when you want to show off to your guests.
Stone Fruit Pavlova was my favourite of the desserts, they also feature a Rustic Tiramisu.
Bruno is located on the main level of the Versante Hotel at 8499 Bridgeport Rd in Richmond, BC. You can follow the restaurant on Instagram @bruno.yvr
