Welcome to the Vancouver Foodster Fried Chicken Challenge. Restaurants from all over the city were invited to enter their fried chicken dishes into this challenge, some of the restaurants have created a special fried chicken creation just for this challenge and others have entered their top choice off their existing menu. Each restaurant will be featuring their fried chicken creation on their menu from November 6-30, 2019.

How Does this all Work? For the public challenge, you are invited to go out and order any or all of the fried chicken creations in this challenge, then you decide who you think has the best fried chicken creation for the People’s Choice award winners.

Voting criteria –  some things to help you judge your favourite fried chicken creations – keep these things in mind: originality, creativity, uniqueness, traditional, non-traditional, price, value and most importantly taste.

Get some friends together and make a night of it, visit 2 restaurants or more to share and taste the different fried chicken creations or go solo or with a friend – just remember to VOTE for your favourites between November 6-30, 2019.

The dish: We are serving 2 pieces. Leg and thigh with a choice: one side of our Filipino sweet style macaroni pasta or one small side of rice and homemade gravy

Description: Our chicken’s our locally sourced, always fresh never frozen, we hand breaded our chickens with our in house breading mix (no dairy product), we always recommend to our customers to place their orders in advance as we cook fresh batches of our delicious fried chickens each time. Our home-made Filipino style macaroni pasta are loaded with lean ground pork slices of hotdogs some of our customers say it’s already a complete meal! A must try is our homemade gravy as we use our in-house spices and make our own broth to bring out a quality gravy from scratch.

The dish: We are serving 3 pieces of drumsticks and thighs, with fresh hand-cut yam fries as a side and deep fried mini buns.

Description: Our 3 mixed pieces fried chicken is made of fresh, never frozen drumsticks and thighs, all sourced locally. The chicken is marinated with Five Spice, sesame oil, garlic and soy sauce to create the “traditional” flavour of the Taiwanese fried chicken. Dipped in our special formulated wet batter to give a thin and crispy coating; every piece of the fried chicken is made-to-order so the customers can enjoy piping hot, juicy and crispy fried chicken! In terms of the seasoning, customers have the options of regular or different spicy levels to give a nice kick!

To pair the fried chicken, we have the fresh hand-cut yam fries as a side, instead of dipping sauce, we sprinkle our own plum powder on top of the yam fries to give a salty and sweet flavour! To finish off, we have included deep fried mini buns that can be dipped in the condensed milk as a dessert!

With this dish, we are hoping to let customers experience the authentic Taiwanese style fried chicken! “
