Advice: No reservations.
Located on the edge of Surrey in the Clayton Heights neighborhood, it is all about Mexican eats and drinks here where almost everything is made from scratch. Complimentary tortilla chips with house-made salsas are served to tempt the tastebuds.
We started off with their Chicharrones which are basically plant-based pork rinds, you get the flavour without the actual pork, served with a tasty red dipping sauce, a popular sharing snack. This was followed by the tasty Sopesitos, another good dish for sharing with 5 handmade chunky tortillas made of corn dough topped with mashed beans, crema, queso, salsa, and onions; along with the colourful and very good Chicken Tostaditas served with 4 hard corn tortillas topped with chicken tinga, mashed beans, queso, veggies and crema.
For our main dishes, Lawrence and I shared the delicious vegetarian Quesadillas, corn dough fried and topped with queso and vegetables; you can also get these filled with meat with an option to be grilled or fried. The Enchiladas Rojas was another tasty dish with corn tortillas rolled up filled with chicken and smothered in enchiladas red sauce served with Mexican rice and mashed beans; lastly the Taco Loco was a huge fried burrito filled with beef barbacoa, and here you have the option for a different meat filling.
Finished our meal with an order of their yummy and addictive vegan Churros, served with a cajeta dip on the side, do note this dip is not vegan and you can get it without the dip upon request, enjoyed this one of their Horchata drinks. Looking forward to returning to try more of their dishes; there is also a full creative cocktail list if you wish to imbibe.
