Located in the heart of the Burnaby Heights neighborhood, Chef Brian Wong and his 2 brothers are busy cooking up seasonal comfort food dishes filling a void in the neighborhood for a daily brunch spot. It’s all about breakfast and lunch and using as much local products as well as making almost everything from scratch. The room is light, bright and ever so welcoming as is the friendly service.
I loved the Roasted Cauliflower Salad, what a beauty with curry roasted cauliflower, sweet potato, Yam, red onion, dried fruit, peas, lime and cilantro dressing. The Roast Chicken Sandwich is a play on a beef dip, with pulled chicken, pea shoots, pickled red onion, havarti, black pepper aioli, crackling and large bowl of gravy for dipping. The Chicken & Waffles is made up of a couple of pieces of fried chicken along with their fluffy waffles, served with a spicy Korean ketchup and maple syrup.
Look for their all-day breakfast offered during the week, salads, sandwiches and soups for lunch and a whole range of brunch selections on the weekends serving up Benny’s, Waffles and more along with a full on espresso bar and baked goods to eat in or go.
