Specializing in Vegetarian comfort food with a Mediterranean twist, owners Rotem Tal and Itamar Shani have created an array of flavourful eats that’s going to have you following their truck day after day. For most of the dishes you can get them on the platter or on the plate or in a pita with or without the sides and most can also be made vegan.
I have had their super refreshing and slightly addictive Icy Mint Lemonade ($3.50) which paired perfectly with the Falafel Platter ($12) with their smooth and creamy, delicious Organic Hummus, schug, salad, organic chickpea fries, and crispy eggplant along with pita.
I then had a couple of tasty sides, the Kasum ($3.50) with crispy fried cauliflower along with mushroom and onions; and the Shakshuka ($3.50) an almost stew like type of dish with tomatoes, garlic and spices topped with feta cheese. You can also get these dishes larger with a more complete meal by the plate or in a pita and you can top them off with an egg if that is something you love.
Another refreshing beverage is the Iced Café ($3.50) made with their own roasted coffee; and this goes perfectly with their outstanding dessert, the addictive Porcupine Cookie ($3.50) made of crispy katulfi dough filled with homemade dulce de Leche.
I’ll take a platter of that outstanding crispy eggplant, more of that yummy hummus, and a large handful of those porcupine cookies anytime of the day or night.
