I toured the new Elysian Coffee that opened in Mount Pleasant on the southwest corner of Ontario and 7^th, this impressive café and roastery took 15 months to build. They have their own roastery on site with a 1950 cast iron 22kg Probat coffee roaster (from Germany), for roasting their coffee. There is also a large café with communal seating, a large bakery in the back, and a cupping room.

Alistair Durie and Robert Goble are the men behind the successful Elysian Coffee operation that has been evolving since day one 15 years ago. They have had a couple of cafes in operation for the past years in Kitsilano and in Fairview, now a move to their flagship facility.

I’ve been a fan of their coffee and cafes since they opened years ago. Knowing Alistair for thus many years, he is a true perfectionist and so passionate leading not only his company but the ever evolving local coffee industry.
