I toured the new Elysian Coffee that opened in Mount Pleasant on the southwest corner of Ontario and 7th, this impressive café and roastery took 15 months to build. They have their own roastery on site with a 1950 cast iron 22kg Probat coffee roaster (from Germany), for roasting their coffee. There is also a large café with communal seating, a large bakery in the back, and a cupping room.
Alistair Durie and Robert Goble are the men behind the successful Elysian Coffee operation that has been evolving since day one 15 years ago. They have had a couple of cafes in operation for the past years in Kitsilano and in Fairview, now a move to their flagship facility.
I’ve been a fan of their coffee and cafes since they opened years ago. Knowing Alistair for thus many years, he is a true perfectionist and so passionate leading not only his company but the ever evolving local coffee industry.
Elysian Coffee is located at 2301 Ontario Street in Vancouver and is open daily.
