It’s all about the ramen at this traditional Japanese hot spot located in the bustling Fairview neighborhood. The room is typical in layout for Ramen eateries in Japan and the room is often packed at peak times. I dined with my friend Chef Taka Yukiomi sharing the house-made Gyoza lightly pan fried filled with pork and the flavourful Beef Curry served with white rice. I then tasted his Shoyu Ramen with sliced chicken in a darker, soy sauce based broth and then enjoyed the Tori-Shio, made with a lighter chicken broth, and filled with slices of lean chicken breast, ramen noodles and green onions, simple and delicious.
It’s a fast past ramen eatery where healthy bowls of ramen and other dishes are served, inexpensive, using high quality ingredients and efficient friendly service. This is a go to spot for bowls of comfort and I am looking forward to returning for another bowl of the Tori-Shio.
