Advice: No reservations.
With a clever play on words, this new neighborhood eatery focusses on comfort food that is vegetarian and vegan forward. The room has an eclectic feel, the portions are large, and sharing is the way to go. My friend Jason Sanders just returned from travelling the globe and he joined me to share some dishes. Starting off with the Steamed Kale ($4.50) with a house-made cashew gravy, followed by the outstanding Sweet Chili Cauliflower ($8) beer battered with a tamarind chili glaze. Next we had the tasty Corn Fritters ($7.25) served with a spicy chipotle aioli dip, followed by Satay Sauce & Mayo Fries ($8.50) topped with a house-made almond butter satay sauce and chipotle mayo with pickled onions in the mix. Lastly The Lovely ($12.50) a large and delicious bowl of almond nut satay sauce over brown rice, smoked tofu and veggies that included wilted spinach, broccoli, red pepper & toasted coconut. After this vegetarian feast we were stuffed with no room for dessert.
The menu is eclectic featuring handfuls, bowlfuls, six different types of fries done right, greenery and sweet things. The cocktails look as creative as the food, I am looking forward to returning for more another round of the Sweet Chili Cauliflower.
