Advice: Sit downstairs if you want a view of the open kitchen or bar.
Took a drive to the valley recently with my friend Nikki to visit an eatery which I had heard about for quite some time. Centrally located in the centre of downtown Maple Ridge this 2 level dining room is both spacious and nicely designed. We sat upstairs in the more elegant dining room that overlooked the bar and lower level dining, had we have been seated downstairs we would have had the opportune view of the open kitchen. For some refreshment after the drive, Niki had the Striwi Berry Lemonade & I had the Italian Lemonade.
We started off our meal sharing the Cajun Prawn Tacos ($13) with the house made tortilla chips; followed by the Goat Cheese and Beet Medallions ($9).
Next was the Hawaiian Hybrid Flat Bread ($15) that was flavourful with bbq pulled pork, Cajun shrimp, pineapple, chimichurri; followed by the outstanding Lobster Mac & Cheese ($20) aged cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, fresh cream, lobster, panko crusted; lastly the Halibut ($23) with rice and green beans.
For dessert we shared the Sour cherry Pistachio Tart & Lemon Tart and both made for a wonderful ending to the meal. You’ll find an espresso bar at the entrance for early morning coffees and baked goods, followed by a full bar for day and night cocktails.
