On November 21st we presented the fourth Tasting Plates Vancouver event that showcased 9 restaurants, cafes, & food truck all over Chinatown and Strathcona.
The evening began outside of Beta 5 Chocolates at 413 Industrial Avenue where guests registered and picked up their Tasting Plates Cards and then dispersed to the various participating restaurants to taste a multitude of dishes representing many different types of cuisine that included savoury and sweet!
Participating restaurants included: East of Main Café, Treasure Green Tea Co, Harvest Community Foods, Oyster Express, the Chinese Tea Shop, Floata Seafood Restaurant, Electric Owl, Pazza Rella Food Truck and Beta 5.

Tasting Plate at East of Main Cafe featured Kefta skewer, Spanish Torta, Spiced almond labneh and French Onion Soup

Tasting Plate at Harvest Community Foods featured Ramen with Fraser Valley pork shoulder and SOLEfood radish.

Tasting Cups at Treasure Green Tea featured Treasure Green Seasons Blend (hot tea) prepared in tea ceremony style.

One of the items on the Tasting Plate at Electric Owl featuring Grey Goose battered ling cod bite on shoestring potatoes
There were some wonderful surprises along the way that included the Project Limelight kids singing and entertaining guests at East of Main Café as well as a band who played for guests enjoyment at Electric Owl.
The restaurants featured many unique and tasty dishes to our guests to eat and drink throughout the evening both inside and outside.
Thank you to our photographer Alvin Lee for capturing the night so well (see more photos here)
