I recently spent some time test driving the Honda HR-V 2024 car around Vancouver and then spent the day in Chilliwack which was only 1-1/2 hours East of Vancouver.
We visited Smoking Gun Coffee (46168 Yale Rd #101, Chilliwack) for coffee and baked goods. I often stop at this café when enroute to the Okanagan as I love the vibe of the place as well as the décor and of course their coffee which they roast in-house.
On this visit, I had the Espresso and Tonic; while Lawrence had an Americano.
On the food side of things, I had the tasty Tomato cheese croissant while he had the Blueberry scone.
It turned out that one of my favourite Mexican restaurants in the city had recently opened their 2nd Chilliwack location and since it was 40 metres away from the coffee shop it made for the perfect spot for lunch. About a minute later we were at Hugo’s Mexican Kitchen (45945 Thunderbird Ln #106, Chilliwack).
They have a great menu filled with delicious authentic Mexican tacos, churros, and more! They served us a complimentary basked of their house tortilla chips with a trio of tasty salsas. This time around though we were both yearning for something healthy and quick for our lunch and we had the Hugo’s bowl with chicken tinga which was delicious.
The car has good driveability, and a smooth ride. A few things that I liked in this model was the great fuel economy, econo mode, wireless phone charger, and multiple USB charging outlets.
We visited the Local Harvest Market (7697 Lickman Rd, Chilliwack) for the first time which was filled with all things local including the fruits and vegetables that they grow on their farm. Their fruits and vegetables are spray-free, fresh and grown in fertile soils that enhance flavour. We picked up some fresh corn on the cob, blueberries and strawberries.
For dinner, we visited a spot that I had been wanting to try for awhile, Farmhouse Brewing (6385 Lickman Rd, Chilliwack). It is a craft brewery with a Tasting Room & Wood-Fired Kitchen located in the Greendale area that features their locally brewed Craft Beer, Pizza & More!
As I was driving I wasn’t drinking any beer, we opted for their tasty Caesar salad and one of their delicious thin crust pizzas which is made with their 48 hour fermented dough to share which was the Chook Pizza with a white sauce base topped with Smits & Co. mozzarella, ancho roasted chicken, spinach, grana padano, jalapeño, and smoked salt.
The HR-V car has a great selection of buttons on the drive side for easy accessibility. Also has a roomy front area. The car also had an easy to operate entertainment system.
I really enjoyed the Honda HR-V 2024 was a great car to drive and around Vancouver.
