I recently spent a week test driving the Honda CR-V Hybrid 2024 car around Vancouver while trying some dishes at some restaurants.

I visited Crab Hot Lau on Kingsway one evening for an Iced Vietnamese Coffee, followed by their delicious Lemongrass Chicken over rice and some of their Lychee dessert.

The next day I visited the Courtyard Cafe inside the Vancouver Aquarium for lunch, here I had their 1st place winning Tacos along with their Clownfish ice cream which was delicious.

The steering wheel frames a partially digital gauge cluster with an analog speedometer and a display that allows the driver to swap between different informational menus.

Later in the day I headed over to East Van to Vegas Donuts to pickup some of their delicious nostalgia donuts. My favourites were the Tropical Pair-a-dice Pink glaze custard cream filled, The flamingo (pink glaze with coconut and a strawberry slice); along with the Boston Creme.

The car interior has an attractive design inspired by the Civic compact car and is complemented by modern tech, including an infotainment system with an available 9.0-inch touchscreen that has wireless Apple CarPlay which I used frequently.

The next day I drove out to Surrey to attend a Patio launch party at Skye Avenue Kitchen & Bar which was buzzing with guests indulging in the delicious food and drink. This is what caviar dreams are made of! In addition to the Blinis with caviar, I loved the mini chef signature beef burgers, Wagyu rib eye bites, Salmon Oshizushi, Goat cheese & Golden beet skewers, Salmon Croquette, and the Tiramisu, Rocher Tart and the Chocolate truffles.

The next day friends joined me at Alimentaria Mexicana on Granville Island for dinner where we all had several different dishes, one favourite was the Halloumi & Grilled Cactus in a charred tomatillo salsa verde, topped with pickled red onion and cilantro; this was so good. Served with corn tortillas.
