I recently spent a week test driving the Honda Accord Hybrid 2023 car around Vancouver while trying some dishes at some of restaurants. along with a farm visit in Maple Ridge.

I drove out to Maple Ridge to visit Kizzy and meet her family at their Abernethy Acres farm which is a small scale no spray farm in Maple Ridge; it’s also the production facility of Kizzys Macarons.

The farm is run by Kizzy and her partner Winston, and their vegetables and fruits can be found at the Haney Farmers Market almost every weekend.

I got a tour of the farm and everything that they are growing and then took some of the beautiful kale home along with some leeks, onions, carrots, celery, cucumber, basil, lemon, garlic, celery, beets, and apples.

Next I visited Kizzy at her stand in the Hany Farmers Market to pickup some of her delicious macarons. She makes many different flavours to sell at the market each week. She also takes many custom orders for all sorts of events including weddings where she can make all sorts of custom flavours.

My friend Jason and I spent some time walking around Maple Ridge and then visited Bella Nonna’s for some of their Pumpkin Pie to take away.

One of the great features is the live google powered map which is brightly displayed in the center console.

The next day I visited one of my favourite Yaletown restaurants, Moltaqa Moroccan Restaurant with my friend Morry where we tried some of their new dishes, desserts and some of my favourites. Chef Abid recently moved here from Morocco and is cooking up many traditional dishes, the restaurant is also Michelin Recommended.

These were the dishes and drinks we enjoyed:

Lamb and beef kefta appetizer – one of the new dishes on the menu, a must try.

Beet and oranges salad

Couscous with lamb shoulder – one of the new dishes on the menu, a must try.

Duck tagine with vegetables – one of my favourite dishes here

Mhancha Snake cake — phyllo wrapped almond and apricot paste served with vanilla ice cream; such a unique dessert that I loved.

Oum Mi – Traditional Egyptian warm bread pudding with almond, apricot and coconut

The next day I visited Comma, a new cafe on Oak Street at 16th for a Cortado, the cafe is nice and bright and they had the usual espresso beverages available along with some baked goods and sandwiches on offer.

The car boasts a terrific fuel efficiency as it’s hybrid functions recharge the battery as I drove around.
