Outside of the city with the Honda CR-V

I recently spent a week test driving the Honda CR-V 2023 outside of Vancouver while trying some dishes.

Visited Doppio Zero Pizza in Coquitlam for some delicious Italian food, I went the simplistic route with the pizzas and pasta and then indulged for dessert.

Insalata Rucola Pear a Noce was a perfect dish to begin, I then had the the Spaghetti aglio e olio which is not listed on the menu, so just ask for it.

I had a couple of pizzas, first the Napoletana Pizza with San Marzano tomatoes,Fior di latte, anchovies and capers; followed my the Parmigiana Pizza with eggplant, tomato sauce, fiordilatte, parmigiano e scamorza.

For dessert at the outstanding Italian Cheesecake with pistachio cream, this is their Grandmother’s recipe and this is a glorious way to end a meal.

The CR-V car has a roomy front area and this year’s version of the CR-V has grander proportions and more passenger space. The car interior has an attractive design inspired by the Civic compact car and is complemented by modern tech, including an infotainment system with an available 9.0-inch touchscreen that has wireless Apple CarPlay which I used frequently.

The next day I drove to Squamish and visited Cloudburst Café for a cortado on the North side of town.

I stopped in at Fox and Oak and had a Raspberry almond donut.

Later I visited Wonderland Plants & Coffee for an Iced Americano.

I had lunch at the Copper Coil having the Blackened Chicken Salad is the perfect protein enriched dish.

I visited Alice and Brohm for a Raspberry vegan cone.

For my last stop I visited the Raincity Distillery tasting room which is open to the public features a fully stocked cocktail bar where they offer all sorts of cocktails as well as a selection of zero-proof cocktails; I had one of those enjoying a Pina Colada mocktail. They also offer a selection of dumplings for purchase to go with their tasting flights and cocktails.

Raincity Distillery is located at 38918 Progress Way #8 in Squamish.

The back row in the car is very spacious and comfortable and one of the exciting features in this model is the reclining back seats with an extra 0.6-inch of rear legroom compared with the outgoing CR-V. There is also 36 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row.

I stopped at Green Leaf Aburi Sushi in North Vancouver on my way home and had the Saba aburi sushi.

The next day I headed back to North Vancouver to Sadra Restaurant that specializes in Persian cuisine. Here I had one of my favourite dishes the Fesenjoon Stew – Chicken breast chunks, cooked in gourmet walnuts and pomegranate sauce, served with basmati rice; this paired nicely with the Cardamom tea.

Afterwards I visited Bobzaa Café nearby for a refreshing Mango Slushy.

I really enjoyed the Honda CR-V 2023 was a great car to drive in outside of Vancouver to try some great eateries as well.
