In and Out of the City with the Honda Civic

I recently spent a week test driving the Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring 2021 car around the city while I was out and about trying some new dishes at restaurants and cafes in Vancouver and beyond.

Almost every year for the past 7 or so years my friend Nancy Wong and I celebrate our respective birthdays together over dinner at a new exciting spot that usually neither of us had been too. This year our dinner was Ophelia a Mexican eatery that opened during the pandemic in the Olympic Village neighbourhood.

We each had one of their tasty Carnitas Taco’s and shared their complimentary House-made taco chips and salsa trio. We then shared the beautiful Tuna Tostadas (2 in an order) and shared the delicious Enchiladas Gratinadas layered corn tortilla like a lasagna, braised chicken covered in a poblano sauce.

The next day I visited Obanhmi on Kingsway to try their Vegetarian Banh Mi as well as some of their other items such as the Spring Rolls, and their Coconut and Mango smoothies. The local chain now has several outlets around the city and you can place your order online for quick pickup.

Affordability along with fuel efficiency are just a couple of things that the Honda Civic Hatchback is known for as it is one of the bestselling, most widely recognized car lines in the world. The Civic Hatchback builds on the sporty and youthful design of the 11th generation Civic Sedan while showcasing European-inspired exterior styling, enhanced five-door versatility, and an available, fun-to-drive 6-speed manual transmission.

On another day I headed out of the city to Langley to visit Food by Fanta in the downtown area and enjoyed some of there dishes on the patio. I had the delicious Ballerina Wings as well as their Fish & Chips.

Every Friday and Saturday over the summer months the South Granville neighbourhood is hosting a food truck festival, I headed over on a Friday to visit the Super Thai Truck for the first time and tried some of their dishes. Both the Stir Fried Chicken Satay with peanut sauce and rice and Chicken Pad Thai were tasty and went well with their Thai Iced Tea.

The navigation display for where to go is large and it’s easy to enter an address to select the best route and to go.

Another day during the week I drove North to Squamish to check out the Squamish Farmers Market, and this was my first time for a visit here. Such a wonderful market with a variety of vendors, some I knew and others I didn’t. Had a great chat with Ronny at Wood Spirits; also saw Christy who owns Christy’s Good Bread and picked up one of her Golden Challah’s.

Another great feature is the charging dashboard in the car to charge your iphones or other mobile phones while driving.

Also while I was there I had lunch at Flipside Burgers, a food truck stationed out back of the cidery, a somewhat hidden location for an outstanding burger setup. I had the delicious Chief Chicken Burger while Lawrence had the Swiss Gouda Mushroom Melt and we shared the tasty Avocado bites.

The Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring was enjoyable to drive around Vancouver in the to try some great eateries.
