Opening late last year, Jingle Bao took over a spot on Denman Street that previously housed a few different restaurants most recently a hot pot restaurant. At this Westend spot they specialize in house-made dumplings as well as other Chinese dishes.
Here you can watch the dumpling chefs make the dumplings (Xiao Long Bao) from scratch.
I have tried several dishes here including the delicious SO2 – Signature Rainbow Magnificent Xiao Long Bao; this popular dish featured 7 different flavour dumplings, and my favourites were the Mushroom Truffle and the Curry. Signature Rainbow Magnificent Xiao Long Bao all made from scratch in-house and each dumpling has a different flavour inside each natural colour of Xiao Long Bao.
I also had the delicious S04 — Mushroom Truffle Xiao Long Bao; along with tasty S11 – Crispy snowflake dumpling with fish; also enjoyed the R01 — Seasonal Green Fried Rice.
For dessert loved the S01 – Green Tea Sesame Ball; and also enjoyed a refreshing Lemon Ice Tea.
