It’s quite the achievement when restaurants have been serving customers for over 15 years, it’s been at least that long since I had last visited Al Porto in Gastown. The restaurant was founded in 1978, with a few ownership and chefs changes over the years they are still going strong.
1st dish
Margherita Pizza, a delicious classic with fior di latte, mozzarella and basil.
2nd dish:
Linguine Pescatore, house-made noodles with a selection of seafood, salmon and Halibut in a flavourful tomato sauce.
3rd dish:
Veal Marsala that was perfectly cooked in a delicous marsala sauce with roast potatoes and vegetables.
4th dish:
Rack of Lamb dijon crusted with vegetables, and truffled potato puree.
5th dish:
Dessert trio to share, my favourite of the three that I tried was the yummy Tiramisu, followed by the Lemon Tart and crème brulee.
