Vancouver Foodster Sangria Challenge

Welcome to the Vancouver Foodster 2nd Sangria Challenge. Restaurants and bars from all over the city were invited to enter their Sangria creations into this challenge, most have created a special creation just for this challenge. Each restaurant/bar will be featuring their sangria creations on their menu from September 1-25, 2016.

How Does this all Work? For the public challenge, you are invited to go out and order any or all of the sangria creations in this challenge, then you decide who you think has the best sangria creation for the People’s Choice award winners. 

Share your experiences: Tweet (and don’t forget to tweet or instagram your photos) throughout the challenge, our twitter and instagram address is @vanfoodster and the hashtag is #SangriaChallengeYVR please include this hashtag in all your tweets during the challenge.

Voting criteria –  some things to help you judge your favourite sangria creations – keep these things in mind: originality, creativity, uniqueness, traditional, non-traditional, price, value and most importantly taste.

Get some friends together and make a day or night of it, visit 2 places or more and taste the different sangria creations or go solo or with a friend– just remember to VOTE for your favourites

Description: Our White Moroccan Sangria is created by combining the rich flavours of the BC Mission Hill Sauvignon Blanc with the refreshing tastes of tropical juices and Moroccan herb and spice. The grapes from the wine have a zesty grapefruit flavour that zips across your palate edged with notes of damp herbs and snow peas. The intense aromas of passion fruit, nettle, grapefruit, lemon and lime blends well with the papaya and peach juices that we have infused into the Sangria. We have added a mixture of fruits, including kiwi, local raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, mango, and mint to help bring out the Middle-Eastern flavours of our Moroccan Sangria. It is ultimately the fine blend of all these ingredients in the Sangria that transports you to the exotic culture of Morocco.

Description: Refreshing White Sangria with layers of Watermelon Sorbet and Honeydew Sorbet with Asian Melon Balls and Fresh Slices of Peach and Kiwi. Also includes White Cranberry Juice and Coconut Juice with Honey and Lemon Aromatics and Infused Basil. All touched up with a shot of Butterfly Pea Flower Liquid and Garnished with Twisted Lemon and Bai Bua Bok (Gotu Kola) Leaves (from the legendary Fountain of Life).
