The Krause Berry Farms Cookbook

Locally based Author, Sandee Krause wrote this cookbook that features a collection of recipes celebrating 50 years that showcase the ingredients grown on her family farm in Langley. The book was published by Appetite by Random House.

I’ve known Sandee for a long time ever since first visiting their Krause Berry Farm in Langley, I’ve toured their kitchen and even made one of their Corn pizzas in their kitchen years ago. Their strawberry pies is another thing they are known for and it graces the front of her cookbook, their strawberries are always a treat once harvested and you yearn to make some tasty desserts or just eat them on their own once you get home.

In the decades since its beginnings as a single acre of strawberries, Krause Berry Farms has flourished under the care and passion of the Krause family. With their unwavering commitment to ethical and sustainable agriculture, the Krauses have grown their Fraser Valley estate into 200 acres devoted to mixed produce, four kitchens, a market, a bakery, a waffle bar, an ice-cream shop, and an award-winning winery. Year after year, close to half a million visitors make their way to Krause Berry Farms to revel in a day of family fun and feast on tasty home cooking, leaving with baskets of berries and lifelong memories.

There are so many tantalizing recipes in this book that you are going to love to make or have a friend make for you to enjoy. Some that peak my interest are the Zucchini Pancakes (page 87), Hearty Farm Cookies (page 152), Colourful Nanaimo Bars (page 168), Berry Upside-Down Cake (page 182), Berry Crisp (page 220) and many more.

The books make for a great gift for foodies as well as for yourself, you can find the book in bookstores coast to coast as well as bookstores online.
