Around Vancouver in the Mitsubishi Outlander

I recently spent a week test driving the Mitsubishi Outlander around Vancouver while visiting some restaurants in Vancouver, Surrey and Langley.

Headed over to Kitsilano for a lunch visit to Café Lokal where I had their Avocado Toast as well as a Matcha Latte. This cafe popular cafe in Kitsilano has been keeping the community caffeinated and well fed for over the past 8 years. It’s got a great vibe, delicious beverages and food to keep people coming back.

The next day I took a drive out to Surrey to see how the suv favoured on the highway and visited Those Indian Guys (152 St & 19 Ave, Surrey) for a selection of their healthy Indian dishes.

All of these bowls were very good and I loved all of them from Vinnie’s Favourite (butter chicken), Tikka-a-Fish (spiced fish fillet) and Feel-Good Phenomenon (tofu).

I also loved their Fusion dishes, specifically their Masala-Fish Tacos, we shared, but you shouldn’t share, this was so good with their home-made parantha taco and the fish tikka.

One thing that is important in vehicles like this is the comfortability and the Mitsubishi features like dual-zone or tri-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof are typically available, depending on the trim level.

I next day I headed to downtown Langley to Food by Fanta at 20542 Fraser Hwy. Here I had one of my favourite salads, the Khao Yum Salad made up of 22 ingredients in this colourful salad;  Khao Yum (Yum means to mix in Thai and yes it IS yum). The textures and flavors in this Thai salad features crunchy veggies, pineapple, apple, lime leaves & Thai chilis for that kick of heat. They top it with their housemade watermelon crunchy rice (khao). Their server pours the delicious tangy tamarind dressing tableside.

I also had another favourite dish, the Chor Muang Flower Dumplings traditional Thai flower dumplings, stuffed with chicken (2), pork (2) and veggie (1) seasoned filling with peanut, sweet radish, onion & cilantro.

The Almond Crusted Arctic Char was a new dish for me at this restaurant and I very much enjoyed it.

A new bakery café had opened in Yaletown a few months ago that has got the community buzzing and I’ve enjoyed the vibe of the bustling cafe. Both the Raspberry Matcha iced latte, and Peanut butter chocolate chip cookie were very good. This is a great addition to the Yaletown area and the owners are doing great things at this newly opened gem.

The Outlander has great technology features that include a modern infotainment system with a touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto integration. Available features often include a digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, a premium sound system (like Bose), and multiple USB ports.
