

The fourth Vancouver awards ceremony was held last night on October 2 and it was held at The Commodore Ballroom for a second year in a row.


Michelin awarded 2 new restaurants with one star Sumibiyaki Arashi and Sushi Hyun.

There was 1 new restaurant addition to the Bib Gourmand list Good Thief with Executive chef Jonathan Lee.

There were 2 new Recommended restaurants Elem and Nero Tondo.
The 2025 MICHELIN Guide for Vancouver reaffirms the city’s position as a top culinary destination, with a total of 76 restaurants featured across three categories: 12 MICHELIN-Starred, 15 Bib Gourmand, and 49 Recommended with 22 cuisine types represented.
In addition to restaurant accolades, MICHELIN awarded four special distinctions to hospitality professionals:




Young Chef of the Year – Juhyun Lee (Sushi Hyun)
Exceptional Cocktails Award – Vysion Elter (Good Thief)
Sommelier Award – Franco Michienzi (Elisa)
Outstanding Service Award – Danielle McAlpine (St. Lawrence)


Hosted by Destination Vancouver the reception featured delicious food and drink. For the awards ceremony Mijune Pak was the Emcee and she announced the awards; Royce Chwin, CEO of Destination Vancouver welcomed everyone.
