Afternoon Tea is an art and should be an extraordinary experience one that you will cherish. Vancouver has some wonderful places for you to indulge in an Afternoon Tea experience. Each of the places is unique in what they offer along with the type of service and selection of sandwiches, pastries and desserts. I am on a journey around the city to find these extraordinary places.

A wonderful and delicious Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea experience at Notch 8 restaurant that has been decorated for the occasion to celebrate the Year of the Horse.

This year they have collaborated with the Foo Hung Curious and the Chinatown Storytelling Centre, and we visited shortly after enjoying this afternoon tea experience.

Lawrence joined me and each of us chose different teas from their exquisite menu of Tealeaves Tea; I had the Oolong Goji Berry tea and Lawrence had the Lychee Congou tea.

The presentation of this afternoon tea was extraordinary, we then received a three tier set, the bottom tray filled with the scones, the middle tray featured the savouries and then the top tray featured the sweets.

We were then served a selection of their fluffy scones with clotted cream and orange marmalade; both the Jasmine Earl Grey and Classic Buttermilk Scones were divine.

I loved the red envelopes which have a secret gift inside, many of them including the one I received was for complimentary admission to the Chinatown Storytelling Centre.
The Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea is $75 per person for adults and $40 per child (12 & under) and is available Wednesday through Sunday through to February 22 with three daily seatings at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Reservations are now available and can be made online.
