First Taste of Biryani Lounge

Specializing in Indian cuisine, brothers and chefs Bassi and Lucky have set up a menu of Indian classics with some fun twists; flavourful dishes. The chefs are striving to make everything from scratch in their restaurant.

I have visited and these were dishes and drinks that I had.

Refreshing Masala Lemonade (mocktail), along with the False Creek Fish Nuggets and the sizzling Coal Harbour Chicken Tikka (smoky tandoori chicken thighs) that were delicious.

Chicken cashew korma, Lamb methi malai, Dal makhani, House Biryani with mixed vegetables and spices, Kadhi pakoda and a selection of Indian breads that included the Garlic naan ‘tree’, Amritsari kulcha, and Paratha.

Had the beautifully decorated Mango Lassi; followed by a couple of desserts, the delicious creamy Rabri and their Warm Gulab jamun.

This is a wonderful new addition to the Westend dining scene with an extensive menu of dishes, many of which can be made vegan (give them a day’s notice), many are vegetarian and gluten free as well. There is a full cocktail and mocktail menu, Indian beer and so much more.

Biryani Lounge Restaurant and Bar is located at 1184 Denman St, 2nd floor in the Westend neighbourhood of Vancouver; you can follow them on Instagram @biryanilounge1184
