I recently spent some time test driving the Acura ADX 2025 in Vancouver while visiting some new and not so new restaurants. This is one of newest models from Acura and my first time test driving the ADX. The ADX is Acura’s brand-new subcompact luxury SUV introduced for the 2025 model year, positioned beneath the RDX and MDX in size and price.

I drove through East Vancouver to visit the fairly new Super Thai Hot Pot (3327 Kingsway in Vancouver) where I got to choose my own selections from over 100 ingredients, I then chose the spicy Tom Yum broth. As I arrived towards the end of happy hour I received a free ice tea drink and I had the Oolong iced tea. I also received some complimentary shrimp crackers. Visited the complimentary sauce bar to mix up my own sauces to enhance my hot pot experience. To finish I enjoyed a complimentary Thai Milk Tea soft serve ice cream cone.

The next night I met up with my friend Nancy for a belated mutual birthday dinner at Zapoteca Cantina de Barrio in the Point Grey neighbourhood. Here we shared their Taco Platter that featured 15 different tacos based on our 3 choices.

For dessert walked down the street to Killer Ice Cream (3659 West 4th Ave) and got a couple of cones.

I picked up my friend Marc from the airport and there was plenty of room for his luggage as this suv model has great cargo space. The ADX comfortably fits four adults with ample legroom and cargo space–~23–24 cu ft behind the rear seats and up to 55 cu ft with them folded.

After the airport, I drove over to the Fraserhood area for dinner at Bravo with friends (4194 Fraser St) and this time with Lawrence and my visiting friend Marc and we had the Croquettes, Tofino king salmon, Spanish octopus, Burrata and the Strozzapreti.

The next day as it was a glorious warm day, I drove to Queen Elizabeth Park to walk amongst the beautiful rose garden, a nice afternoon escape.

The SUV has some unique features that include a power tailgate, panoramic sunroof, and a thoughtfully designed cockpit to enhance usability and comfort.
The next night I drove to North Vancouver for a Persian dinner at Diyar Restaurant (1480 Pemberton, North Van) where they specialize in Persian cuisine, the restaurant features a wide selection of kebabs, stews and more.

We started off with their unique Diyar soda yogurt. It was then on to the dishes, the Eggplant dip with homemade bread was outstanding as was the Tahdig Ghormeh Sabzi.
We had a Garden salad to add some greens into the mix.
The Sour lamb kebab was my favourite of the two lamb dishes, the other was the Shishlik Kebab (Lamb rack ).
Tried the Gheymeh stew as well which was very tasty.
Baklava was served with their traditional Persian tea to finish the meal.

The following night I drove to Coal Harbour to have a fish focussed dinner at Cardero’s. Known for their fresh fish and seafood (located at 1583 Coal Harbour Quay, Vancouver) offers many dishes throughout the summer as well as year round. On this visit we tried a selection of fish dishes that featured fish from BC waters.
These are the dishes we had:
Avocado, Tomato & Albacore
sesame crusted Albacore tuna, Thai basil, ponzu
Roasted Sablefish
miso-sake marinade, wok fried rice, seasonal vegetables.
Grilled Fresh BC Halibut
with seasonal vegetables, baby steamed potatoes, lemon caper butter sauce
Peanut Butter Dream Cheesecake with homemade caramel sauce, crushed peanuts
Berry Pavlova with passionfruit pastry cream, strawberry and blueberry compote
I really enjoyed the Acura ADX 2025 was a great car to drive around the city and tour my visiting friend as well as to try some summery dishes.
