Kyle Lane is the Bartender at Regional Tasting Lounge (RTL) in downtown Vancouver. On August 17th he competed in the Whistler Brewing Mixologist Competition held at The Refinery.

His featured drink was called “Bubble Beer”.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz tanqueray

2oz green tea syrup

1/2oz lemon juice

dash fee brothers orange bitters.
Preparation:

Shake this, then strain into a fresh mixing glass. Fill the the glass 2/3 full with Weissbier. Roll back and forth until mixed. Pour into glass over black tusk beer pearls.

Trevor Kallies is the bartender at the Granville Room on Granville in downtown Vancouver. On August 17th he competed in the Whistler Brewing Mixologist Competition held at The Refinery.

His featured drink was called “Citrusly Speaking”.

Ingredients:

2 thick slice orange peel (some flesh)

2 thick slice lemon peel (some flesh)

2oz Beefeater 24 gin

3 dash The Bitter Truth’s Beefeater 24 bitters

1/4oz simple syrup

Cassidy Crowe of SIP Resto Lounge on Granville in the heart of downtown Vancouver. On August 17th she competed in the Mixologist Competition held upstairs from Sip at The Refinery.

Here featured drink was called The Geisha”

Ingredients:

1 oz peach puree
1/2 or fresh lime
fresh muddled ginger
1/2 oz cointreau
topped with Whistler Export Lager

Bartender: Josh Pape

Josh Pape - The Diamond in Vancouver

Josh Pape is one of the Bartenders and Co-Owners of The Diamond in Gastown. On August 17th he competed in the Mixologist Competition held at The Refinery. He created his featured drink in advance but named it impromptu in front of the judges.

His featured drink was called “2 beers 1 cup”

Ingredients:
20 ml dark ale & cherry reduction
45 ml goslings
10 ml orancio
10 ml fresh orange juice
Dash egg white

Preparation:

Shake hard and strain into sours glass, top with 60 ml Whistler Weissbier, garnish with rum and kirsch soaked cherry.

That’s right. 2 beers 1 cup.

Solomon Seigel is the Bartender at his own place called Solomon’s in Victoria. On August 17th, he was the only participant from Victoria to compete in the Mixologist Competition.

His featured drink was called the “Lavender Haze”

Ingredients:

1 part Bulleit bourbon

a bar spoon of lavender jelly

two parts pale ale.

Preparation:

Solomon combined all the ingredients in a shaker smoked it up with burning hops, and then strained and garnished with a fresh sprig of local lavender…
